LEDW-15101W(H) and LEDW-15201W(H): Toshiba’s High-brightness LED Street Lamps

Toshiba has recently rolled-out their two new LED street lamps in Japan, the LEDW-15101W(H) for linear poles and the LEDW-15201W(H) for oblong poles offering an average road luminance of 1.0cd/m2 with an average power consumption of 122W, compare to 415W power consumption of a 400W mercury lamp and 195W of a a 180W high-pressure sodium lamp.
The street lamps are latest products of the Toshiba’s E-Core series of LED lamps. By using the latest lamps, it is possible to realize an average road luminance of 1.0cd/m2 with an average power consumption of 122W (when input is 200V). Therefore, Toshiba Lighting & Technology expects that they will drastically reduce power consumption at major arterial roads including national roads.
The power consumptions of street lamps using a 400W mercury lamp (KSC-4) and a 180W high-pressure sodium lamp (KSH-2) are 415W and 195W, respectively.
